NHLPA And Thrashers Establish Dan Snyder Memorial Scholarship

The NHLPA and players on the Atlanta Thrashers have established The Dan Snyder Memorial Scholarship to honour Dan in his hometown of Elmira, Ontario.

This annual award will recognize one player from the Elmira Sugar Kings Junior B Hockey Club that displays outstanding levels of sportsmanship, dedication and determination to his team and the sport of hockey. The recipient will receive $1,000.00 to be used for post- secondary education.

The NHLPA Goals & Dreams fund made an original contribution of $20,000 and the players on the Thrashers have contributed individually. The official name of the award is the The Dan Snyder Memorial Scholarship Sponsored by the members of the NHLPA.
